In 2015, a group of Nashville musicians and producers, who shared a love of podcasts, collectively asked why there wasn’t a platform for musicians, like what Marc Maron’s WTF podcast did for comedians. Surviving the Music Industry (SMI) was soon born. We are proud to say, by the way, SMI is “A Top 10 Music Interview” by Apple Podcast, “One of the top podcasts to listen to” by TopPdcasts.com, and we are a feature podcast on Elton John’s funded, “Country Line” App from the United Kingdom.

Podcasting wasn’t new then but it was very new to Nashville to be used as an asset. Some of our now collaborators started asking us then; how can we broaden my reach through a podcast, how can we make money in podcasting, what kind of gear do we need, how can we keep our members informed? Questions we had asked when we were getting started in podcasting. For every new conversation about building a podcast for someone, these conversations brought different challenges that we met head-on.

Now, we’re bringing our time-tested workflow to benefit others, besides musicians. With our experience in audio production, talent, story building in interviews, scriptwriting, pitching, working with publicists, and continued the conversation with heavy hitters in the podcasting community. We’re here to help you.
